
An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Laboratory Technician to support to our Laboratory Manager at Tyrrell’s – one of Australia’s most iconic family-owned wine producers.
Based at our picturesque Pokolbin winery, the Laboratory Technician will work closely with the Laboratory Manager to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of our onsite laboratory. This role is an integral part of our winemaking team and plays a key role in maintaining quality and consistency across all stages of production.
· Conduct routine laboratory analyses on wine and juice at all stages of production.
· Preparation and standardise accurate standards and reagents for routine analysis.
· Calibration, maintain, and care for laboratory equipment.
· Sampling and analyse wine and juice during the vintage period, including nitrogen levels and yeast cell counts on primary ferments.
· Record all analysis results promptly and accurately.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory databases.
· Assist in establishing and maintaining work procedures in accordance with the company Quality System.
· Ensure the laboratory is kept clean and well organized at all times.
· Comply with Company Work Health & Safety (WHS) requirement at all times
· Minimum 5 years experience in Industrial Chemistry
· Practical experience in Quality Assurance (preferred)
· Familiarity with third-party certification processes (eg. NATA, ISO-9000)
· Strong computer literacy and data management skills
· Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments
· A proactive, detailed-orientated approach with strong organisational skills
