Johnno's Semillon 2025

$105.00

Our Johnno’s Vineyard is situated on the sandy flats of the Tyrrell Family Estate Ashmans. Planted in 1908, it features sandy soils and is planted alongside Mary Anne’s Creek, which runs all the way down to our iconic Short Flat Vineyard.

The fruit was handpicked on 11 January and then carefully basket pressed. The juice was then cold settled for two days before being racked to another stainless-steel tank to begin fermentation with a small amount of solids. The wine was then bottled in July 2025.

Exceptional vibrant colour. Riesling-like in aromatics and palate notes. Slate and wet stone aromatics with aspirin lift and hints of lime. Delicate fruit weight, lime rind, crisp balancing acid with length, structure and drive.

HVD Chardonnay 2025

$110.00

The Old Vines Chardonnay block on HVD was planted in 1908 and is believed to be the oldest-producing Chardonnay vineyard in the world. This vineyard is situated between two dry creek beds and features free-draining, sandy soils over coarse river sand.

The fruit was handpicked on 21 January and was immediately basket pressed. The juice was cold settled for two days before fermentation began in stainless steel tanks. The fermenting juice was then transferred to French oak puncheons for eight months’ maturation.

Straw-like colour with green hues. Focused and pure yet complex aromatics, sherbert and inviting white stonefruit, with seamless balance from nose to palate. Chablis in style. Juicy fruits with length, power and focus.

8 Acres Shiraz 2024

$230.00

The 8 Acres Vineyard was planted in 1892 on deep red clay soils over limestone. Situated just below our 4 Acres Vineyard, the vine orientation is north/south, opposite to 4 Acres, which runs east/west and produces a different style of wine altogether.

The fruit was handpicked on January 30 and fermented with natural yeast using classic hand winemaking techniques. After fermentation, the wine was matured in a single one-year-old French oak cask for 14 months.

Raspberry red colour with strawberries and cream on the nose and the palate. Light on its feet, but cloud-like in the mouth. Raspberries, sweet fruits and confection, pretty and bright, with enduring length.

Old Patch Shiraz 2024

$230.00

Sourced from the Tyrrell Family owned “Old Patch” on the Old Hillside Vineyard on Marrowbone Road, Pokolbin. The Old Patch sits in the base of this block and was planted in 1867, making it the oldest vineyard in NSW and one of the oldest in the world. It is a steep, eastern facing block that is protected by the Brokenback mountain range. The block features darker, richer soils than the soils at our Ashmans property.

The fruit was handpicked on January 27 and fermented with a natural yeast using classic hand winemaking techniques. After fermentation, the wine was matured in a single one-year-old French oak cask for 14 months.

Dense dark purple in colour. Black pepper aromatics quickly overtaken by mulberries and plum with stalk complexity. Dark blood plum, mouth-coating and opulent tannins, dark and brooding blackberries and mulberries. Iodine. Unwaveringly powerful, yet balanced and elegant.

Vat 47 Chardonnay 2024

$115.00

Vat 47 Chardonnay comes entirely from our Short Flat Vineyard, where the original Chardonnay vines were planted by Murray Tyrrell in 1968. The soil profile in this dry grown vineyard is unlike that of any of our other vineyards, which gives Vat 47 its unique character.

All the fruit was handpicked between January 8 and 15. The fruit was immediately basket-pressed, and the free-run juice was transferred to French oak barriques to complete fermentation and nine months maturation before bottling in October.

Stonefruit and creaminess on the nose with a hint of ginger spice from the oak. The palate displays grapefruit citrus and a lingering rich fruit sweetness. Textural, savoury elements from the slight solids ferment that gives the palate a lovely grain, balanced by the hallmark Vat 47 acid structure.
