Old Patch Shiraz

Pre-sold on allocation only.

Sourced from some of the world's oldest and rarest vines. Highly perfumed, bright, lifted berry aromas with some savoury spice all rounded off by the large format French oak. The palate shows a seamless structure with creamy texture, the fruit and acid are in perfect balance, the oak being a small player with the primary focus on the rich red fruit.

96+ Points - 290 dozen made from a patch planted in 1867. Smell the depth of seductive dark fruit and a shake of pepper, dark chocolate and liquorice, the sweet damp earth of this distinctive site. Musky perfume too. Medium to full bodied, succulent, dark fruit, firm pliant tannin, soars on the finish with fresh acidity and tannin, yet ample fruit buoys it up. Boysenberry pip acidity. Balance. Vivacity. Depth. Superb. Suspect this is a legend in the making.
