Just how important is region to the Australian wine drinker and their selections? A study by Wine Intelligence found that 55% of Australian wine drinkers choose region to be the number 1 influencer when they are making a wine selection. The same study discovered that the Hunter Valley is the number 1 region for awareness with 84% of the survey recognising the region. The Hunter Valley currently receives around 3 million visitors per annum with amounts to at least 12 million individual tastings annually.
Our new Hunter Valley range is quintessential Tyrrell’s and quintessential Hunter. The range will consist of the key varieties Chardonnay, Semillon and Shiraz and so takes full advantage of the regional / varietal strength built up with consumers over the past five decades.
Tyrrell’s will continue to be the leading brand for the Hunter Valley and this range will further cement our place as the leaders in bringing true Hunter Valley wine to the wine consuming public. Each wine will be a unique offering in the portfolio and the wines are now readily available and give the market an insight into what the new vintages from the
Hunter Valley will look like.

“Lead from the top!” Years of experimentation and practice benefits every bottle of wine we make. This wine style of this range will reflect the winemaking styles of our winemaker’s selection Vat 1, Vat 47 and Vat 9; our winemakers call them the “baby brothers”. Bruce Tyrrell says “It will be more about the art and less about the science”.
These wines will be available to both the on and off premise channel. Pricing has been set to deliver more margins to our customers and a superior quality product to our end consumers.
