Australia’s most awarded white continues its success!

Announced at last night’s awards ceremony (28/7/16), Tyrrell’s 2005 Vat 1 Hunter Semillon was the winner of the NSW Department of Primary Industries James Busby Perpetual Trophy for Best NSW Wine. The 2005 vintage has now been awarded 24 trophies and 47 gold medals.

The trophy is awarded to the NSW wine achieving the highest total medal score over the previous 12 months on the NSW Wine Show circuit, which includes the Hunter Valley Show, NSW Wine awards and the Sydney Royal.

Since its inception in 1962, Tyrrell’s iconic Vat 1 Semillon has become Australia’s most awarded white wine with an unprecedented 160 trophies, 451 gold, 259 silver and 352 bronze medals to its name*, among them important international wine show awards. Vat 1 Semillon has been named Wine of Provenance in both Adelaide and the Hunter Valley.
