Gary Walsh, Wine Front
94 Points - Baby faced winemaker Chris Tyrrell says “This 1,000 dozen blend is from the following blocks; Weinkeller East – normally this is in Vat 9 every year. Weinkeller Young Vines – Normally in Vat 8 most years. Stevens Young Patch – This block is the bit above the old patch and was as good as the normal Stevens”. Blackberry, boysenberry, liquorice, light spice and vanilla, gentle dusty earthiness. Medium bodied, red and black fruits, silky tannin, pitch perfect acidity, fresh berried finish of excellent length. The drinking pleasure is high with this one. Closure : Screwcap. Drink : 2016 - 2030.

93 Points - This has a redder fruit focus with plenty of liquorice and hints of coal smoke, the palate is classic Hunter Valley shiraz shape, mid-weight, great length and focus, really even and supple, drink now and for 5+ years.
Huon Hooke, The Real Review
92 Points - Deepish red/purple colour, of good hue. Smoky, earthy and rocky mineral aromas, which re-appear in the mouth together with rather strident acidity and a slight nerviness. Red fruits; medium to full-body. Very good wine, in an elegant fruit-driven style. 2017-2034.
