2014 Hunter Valley Shiraz

92 Points - The Tyrrell family was excited about its 2014s when I visited there earlier this year, and this suggests their ebullience is well founded. The aromas are fresh and floral, loaded with cherry-berry fruit and a hint of cracked pepper, while on the palate, the wine is medium bodied and supple, with a long, peppery, silky finish.

91 Points - Forest berries, a dash of pepper, some earth and vanilla, and a slightly reductive pong. Only just medium bodied, tangy berries, earth and spice, some grainy tannin and a bright finish of fair length. I’d give this a year or two more in the cellar, then I suspect it will be right in the zone.
