The grapes were sourced from Orange, a cool climate, high altitude region renowned for growing sauvignon blanc. The fruit was harvested in the very early hours of the morning when the fruit is at its coolest, then the grapes were lightly pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine spent some extended time on yeast lees to gain extra complexity and texture. Beyond Broke Road Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant and expressive cool climate style, showing snow pea, guava and passionfruit. The palate is well balanced between its vibrant citrus profile and a hint of grassy notes, with a crisp, refreshing acid profile.

90 Points - Harvested in the early morning, lightly pressed then fermented in stainless steel, with some extended time on lees. The no-frills winemaking approach has allowed intense passionfruit and guava fruit aromas and flavours to play free. Punches well above its weight, good acidity the cream on the cake. Drink till 2020.

John Rozentals, Australian Good Food & Travel Guide

Tyrrells winery is located on Broke Road, in the Hunter Valley, but it has long used grapes from other Australian areas as well. This new (for this scribe, anyway) label handily brings a group of those wines together. This shows plenty of the variety’s noted herbaceous character and some good palate weight.
