Overview & Tasting Notes

The Johnno's semillon block was planted in 1908 and is the oldest semillon block owned by the Tyrrell family. Hand picked and basket pressed, it is crafted in a softer, more rounded and textural style than the other semillons.

Accolades

  • James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2014 on

“96 Points & Outstanding - Pale quartz in colour, the winemaking techniques are a deliberate throwback to yesterday, with basket-pressing, only partial juice clarification, and ‘traditional fermentation’ (not cold) techniques, all contributing to its special texture. Drink well to 2040.”
