Accolades

  • James Halliday - James Halliday's Top 100 Wines of 2012 on

90 Points - Has considerable colour development, although it is bright; the varietal fruit is vibrant and clear, with white flesh stone fruit and citrus to the fore; there is the faintest suggestion of oak that has been carefully kept in check. The best Hunter Valley chardonnay in its price group.

  • Huon Hooke - The Sydney Morning Herald on Tue, July 16th 2013

Bargain of the Week - 86 Points - A very good budget chardonnay with typical cashew, herbal and lees characters, with a tinge of honey. There’s a tickle of sweetness balancing some crisp acidity, and it has pleasing weight and intensity, without particular distinction but very good value. Drink now.

  • Maitland Mercury on Fri, July 26th 2013

A very good budget chardonnay with typical cashew, herbal and lees characters, with a tinge of honey. There’s tickle of sweetness balancing some crisp acidity, and it has pleasing weight and intensity, without particular distinction but very good value. Drink now.

  • Tony Love, Courier Mail, Brisbane on

4/5 Stars - At this price you’ll often see some pretty mono-dimensional, fruit-driven chardonnay, but here you get a decent layering of oak influence which brings an element of great value and complexity. This is aided by some fortuitous trickle down from higher-end Tyrrell’s whites like Vat 47. There’s crunchy apple-like fruit tang and texture at its core.

  • James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2014 on

90 Points & Highly Recommended - The varietal fruit is vibrant and clear, with white-flesh stone fruit and citrus to the fore; there is the faintest suggestion of oak that has been carefully kept in check. The best Hunter Valley Chardonnay in its price group.
