Peter Lane
Assistant Winemaker
Born and raised in Cessnock in the lower Hunter Valley, Peter began his career in the wine industry picking grapes for McWilliams Mount Pleasant. After completing a Chemistry Level Certificate Peter went on to become a trainee Chemist at McWilliams Mount Pleasant for five years. Following this role, Peter worked at Tullochs Wines as a cellar hand for six years before completing a vintage with Rothbury Estate. Peter has completed a Bachelor Applied Science in both Agriculture and Wine Science which he studied through Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga.
In 2003, Peter began working at Tyrrell’s Wines as an Assistant Winemaker. His current focus is on red winemaking, working with Mark Richardson in maintaining the excellence of Tyrrell’s reds from the Hunter, Heathcote and McLaren Vale.
