Tyrrell's Vineyards, 1838 Broke Road, Pokolbin on Sat, June 22nd 2013, from 8:59am—2:59pm
Cost: $150 per person
Winter is both the beginning and the end of the growing cycle. Join us for an exploration of the grapevine, the vineyard, the land, and of course, the wines they produce. This is a rare opportunity to join the whole Tyrrell's team (viticulturists, winemakers and family) to explore some of the oldest vineyards still in production anywhere in the world. You will be taken on a series of 'hands on' walking tours of the vineayrds, all well in excess of 100 years old. Here you will learn more than a thing or two about the history of the vines and why they occupy an integral place in Australia's winemaking heritage. It will also be an opportunity to taste some rare wines and perhaps help with a little pruning too. This will be followed by an informal lunch with the Tyrrell's team, accompanied by museum wines.
