Stevens Vineyards

Neil Stevens owns two iconic Hunter vineyards on Marrowbone Road in Pokolbin. These hillside vineyards, called “Glenoak” and “Old Hillside”, feature rich and unusually coloured purple ochre clay loams. Some of the vines on the old hillside are the oldest still producing in the Hunter, yet still yield a crop of incredibly rich fruit. In 1993, Bruce Tyrrell struck a deal with the Stevens family. The backbone of the deal was the friendship and history between the two Hunter families. It was, and is still today, a deal that is sealed by a handshake.
