Verdelho
Verdelho is a Portugese variety and performs well in a range of climates. It is moderately vigorous and productive. Verdelho is best described as a generously flavoured style, with varietal characteristics of tropical fruits, herbaceous and spicy and with balanced crisp acidity. Verdelho is generally made without oak and is a medium bodied white wine. Wines made from Verdelho grapes are often quite high in alcohol as they are often picked at the later stages of maturity. Tyrrell’s Wines make verdelho that is rich, tropical and spicy – a style unique to the Hunter Valley.
