Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is widely regarded as the world’s premium variety for red wine and is widely planted. Herbaceous and vegetal characters are most pronounced in grapes sourced from vines grown in cooler climates. Grapes grown in warmer climates produce wines with minty, berry and blackcurrant characters. Most Cabernet Sauvignon wines are matured in oak barrels. As the wine ages, the tannins become more supple and a perceived sweetness may develop from ripe fruit characters or alcohol. Cabernet Sauvignon made at Tyrrell’s Wines is medium to full bodied with leafy, ripe cassis like flavours and are always well structured and elegant.
