Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon originates from Bordeaux in France and is widely regarded as the world’s premium variety for red wine. Cabernet Sauvignon provides low yields and produces small berries, with thick and very dark skins, giving a wine that is tannic and very dark in colour. As a result it is often blended with other varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon is a late ripener and requires moderate temperatures, however, will flourish under most conditions. It reacts well to oak-ageing and has a good capacity to mature. Cabernet Sauvignon made at Tyrrell’s Wines is medium to full bodied with leafy, ripe cassis like flavours and is always well structured and elegant.
